Basement underpinning or lowering a basement  is done for a few different reasons: to convert a crawl space into a usable space, to restabilize a foundation, or to increase load capacity of the basement.  This process is done by excavating the area and creating a lower support level and then adding new concrete footers, walls and floor.

The process requires the following steps:

  • Determining the height of the basement
  • Working closely with engineers for required blueprints
  • Applying for underpinning permit
  • Once approved work with professionals to install new HVAC and Plumbing
